Former Iowa House Speaker Christopher Rants, and his firm inSight Communications, is teaming up with PolicyWorks, a Des Moines-based government and public affairs firm.
The new business partnership between PolicyWorks and Rants will provide hands-on lobbying services for organizations, trade associations, businesses and non-profit organizations. Their combination will provide prospective clients a dynamic, experienced and knowledgeable team to represent their interests.
PolicyWorks specializes in helping organizations, businesses, and non-profits achieve their public policy objectives. PolicyWorks government and public affairs team is led by John Cacciatore, former Chief of Staff to Gov. Tom Vilsack, former staff for the Iowa Senate Democrats, and campaign operative since 1983. The PolicyWorks team has decades of experience, which brings valuable insight to clients navigating the legislature and law-making process. In addition, PolicyWorks has extensive experience and knowledge in the public affairs arena, helping clients identify a message, market that message to a specific audience and affect public opinion.
Rants served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1993 through 2010, then founded inSight Communications in 2009 to continue his focus on public policy and grass roots political activism. He served as the leader of the Republican caucus for a decade, including Speaker of the House of Representatives for four years. He was an advisor to the Romney campaign in 2008 and was a policy consultant to the Governor Branstad campaign in 2010. This year, he is serving as state chairman for the Carly Fiorina for President Committee. Christopher is an Aspen Institute Rodel Fellow in Public Leadership, and serves on the board of directors of the Republican State Leadership Committee as well as Top Level Registry, Inc.
In addition to Cacciatore and Rants, the PolicyWorks government and public affairs team includes Jon Murphy, Jessica Maldonado, Lon Anderson and Lisa Russell.
Welcome to the team Christopher!
