Passage of Medical Liability Reform Legislation

Gov. Terry Branstad at signing of Medical Liability Reform Legislation - imageTort Reform - PolicyWorks worked with our client, the Polk County Medical Society, and other medical organizations to get a bill enacted that aims to reduce medical malpractice insurance rates by capping non-economic damages except in the case of severe disfigurement or death at $250,000, expanding the CANDOR legislation that was initially approved in 2015, strengthening expert witness standards and requiring a Certificate of Merit for all medical malpractice lawsuits. The Governor signed the bill on May 5, 2017.

Congratulations to the doctors and staff at the Polk County Medical Society!
