The Show Must Go On(line)

The PolicyWorks team assists folk rock band, The Nadas, with social media management. As an Iowa-based band, The Nadas are grounded in creating a genuine relationship with their fans, while also continuing to write and release new songs and albums. To maintain this relationship with their fan base, PolicyWorks helps The Nadas with social media as an integral communication channel to keep fans connected and raise awareness about shows and album releases. 


The COVID-19 pandemic hit right as The Nadas were getting ready to release a new album. Instead of postponing the album and corresponding "Storytellers" Tour, PolicyWorks helped the band pivot to create an online virtual tour and album release. The virtual tour provided a needed outlet for fans during quarantine and helped the band earn money while venues were closed.


In addition, PolicyWorks has integrated throwback photos and videos to bring a sense of nostalgia for its fan base, which is an easy way to get them excited for shows.  With additional promotion of shows, trivia about band members, use of Facebook Live and catchy hashtags, the band's social media pages grew exponentially over the course of six months.  

​PolicyWorks' promotion and strategy for the show at XBk Live, a newly renovated venue in downtown Des Moines, helped sell out the venue for the first time ever.
