We’re pleased to announce that Jake Friedrichsen will be joining PolicyWorks as Vice President of Government Affairs beginning in August.

Jake brings more than a decade of experience working in and around the Iowa State Capitol. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff to the last three House minority leaders, including Representative Jennifer Konfrst. In that role, he was responsible for managing the leaders’ legislative priorities, constituent outreach, and caucus coordination, while serving as a key advisor throughout the legislative process.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jake to the PolicyWorks team as John Cacciatore retires in December after 19 years of leading our firm’s lobby practice. Having served as a key advisor to legislative leaders for many years, Jake’s expertise, relationships and familiarity with the legislature will be a very valuable addition to our firm.” said Justin Hupfer, Chief Executive Officer of PolicyWorks.
Before his time in legislative leadership, Jake held roles as Executive Officer to former State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald and as Field Director for the House Truman Fund. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and holds a master’s in public administration from Drake University.
“I’ve long admired the PolicyWorks team and the work they lead on behalf of clients,” said Friedrichsen. “I’m excited to bring my experience to the firm and help advance important public policy conversations across the state.”
We look forward to the expertise and leadership Jake will bring to our clients and team as we continue our mission to help organizations achieve their public policy and communications goals. Learn more about Jake here.
